MARKETING EMAIL CAMPAIGN FOR PERSONAL TELLER MACHINE TECHNOLOGY

ITM/PTM Know Your Options

Self-Service Banking, What Are The Options?

Hello,

At Source Technologies are working to make the lives of bank customers and bank employees better. This is something we are passionate about and we think that bank branches should know the products that can make their lives easier and their lines shorter.

The two main technologies that are used to automate the banking world are Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) and Personal Teller Machines (PTMs). An ITM works very similar to an ATM in that deposits and withdrawals can take place at the machine, but it comes with the ability to be connected to a call center and manned by a teller in another location. They can also be used to extend banking hours. A PTM is a little different. A PTM can be used to automate 90% of all teller transactions and truly bring Self-Service into the branch they are a way to free up tellers too help with other matters like loans while still meeting the needs of all of the customers or members walking through the front door.

For more information and to watch a demo of a PTM in action please click here [link] and, don’t forget to come see us at SEC with any further questions about the technology!

ITM/PTM - What Works For You?

Self-Service What Type Works the Best for Your Branch?

Hello,

Self-service kiosks are going into more and more banks. ITMs and PTMs are both on the rise. The question we have for you is which system would work the best for your branch? ITMs work great and provide a high level of self-service to customers. They allow banks to extend past the normal business hours of 8-5 opening transactions for people who simply cannot make it to the bank during the work day. They can be stationed outside and connect to a call center of trained tellers to help customers with their transactions.

PTMs operate in much the same way,  but can offer a true self-service. Experience to customers. While they lack the ability to be placed outside of branches and extend the branch hours they can automate up 90% of teller transactions. They can take deposits, dispense cash, and open accounts like the ITM, but have a handy feature to also be able to print official checks, provide insight into the banking needs of the customer at the kiosk, and are connected to the core system of the bank! This saves time for the branch employees, because they don’t have to enter all of the transactions that took place at the kiosk.

For a demonstration of what the PTM is capable of please click here [link] and don’t forget that we will be at SEC in September to start a conversation about PTMs and figure out what would work the best for you.

Core Centric Self-Service

Source Technologies PTMs Are Core Centric

Hello,

PTMs renew machines and they are different from ITMs. The biggest difference in these two systems is that PTMs are a Core Centric technology. They are plugged straight into the system tellers use! This means that they are true sefl-sercive kiosks.

They can used for all the things that an ITM can be used for, but instead of having a call center teller helping them through the process or a teller at the branch walking them through and then running the transaction again after the customer or member has left, once the transaction is done it is already in the core system. That saves tellers time at the end of the day, saves money with staffing, as well as saves the customer time!

Cost Considerations for in branch Self-Service

Self-Service Saves Money and Time

Hello,

Cost for running a branch are always a big deal. Nothing that will help run a branch is free, but by switching to a self-service model branches can actually save money. Most banks and credit unions are using ITMs and they are great, but they can be half as much or double the cost of a PTM. PTMs have a lower acquisition cost and a lower cost of ownership associated with them. Branches and the main bank do not have to pay to staff a call center full of tellers to help customers through their transactions. They also have the unique benefit of allowing a branch to have a much smaller staff than a normal branch. They are fully self-service and can automate up to 90% of all teller transactions. A branch would only have to staff a few team members for transactions that required a teller or for the members that did not want to work on the kiosk.

A core centric system not only saves the customer time from having to wait in long lines and saves the teller time from having to field so many requests that they cannot get anything done for the day, but it can saves tons and tons of money by cutting back on staffing costs while still running a fully functioning branch!

Unique Self-Service Teller Transaction

Self-Service Teller Transactions with PTM!

Hello,

Did you know that there are teller transactions that only a PTM can do? Not only do they function for deposits, withdrawals, and inquiries. But, they have the unique ability to make change for a customer. They come ready to work with four to five denominations of currency. They can also print official checks for a customer right from the machine if they are the 10 Series. The 8 Series can issue official checks but requires a remote printer to issue them.

These transactions are core centric so once they are done a teller does not have to go behind the machine and reenter the transaction into the core system.  Because they are core centric it allows a customer to start a transaction on their mobile device or computer and come to the branch to finish the transaction. If they needed checks they could request the amount they need and come into the branch to finish the transaction and collect them! No waiting for the checks to be delivered and a teller is freed up to help with other issues around the bank.
